Support my work with a membership

If my guides and videos have helped you, please consider supporting me with a membership.

The work that I do is really time intensive. Even a 3-minute video on social media can easily take me an hour to think through, record, and edit. And writing in-depth guides usually means I'm giving up a dozen hours or more.

Of course, I love doing this work! But autistic psychologists have to eat too.

What your membership does

With a membership, you allow me to spend more time putting good stuff out into the world, and less time supporting myself in other ways.

You also help shape the work that I put out. My members gain access to "Dr. Dan's Drawing Board", a private forum where I share rough drafts and get suggestions for what topic to tackle next. (I may also roll out other benefits over time.)

Plus - membership dollars might allow me to tackle cooler projects, like hiring an illustrator or even hosting an in-person event one day. I can't swing that yet, but member support might make that possible.

Should you sign up?

To be clear, I'm doing fine financially! This is about buying back some time, not taking care of me.

If $10/mo is a strain for you, please don't sign up. I'll keep doing this work no matter what, and you already support me just by learning from it.

But if you believe in the work that I'm doing and the membership feels like money well spent - then welcome to the Drawing Board :)

Frequently asked questions

As a member, do I get more access to Dr. Dan?

To my work, yes. To me personally, no.

You get to see rough drafts, and suggest topics for what I work on next. But I'm not available to give personal advice or socialize. (I wish I could, but there's no ethical way for me to do that.)

It's important for me to stay firmly in the "educator" role rather than blurring boundaries into friendship or therapy. My job is to teach you how to make friends (and perhaps find a good therapist), not be a friend or a therapist.

What's the difference between the plans?

The annual plan lets you send a stronger signal of support by signing up for a year in advance, and get a little discount in exchange. Otherwise the benefits are identical.

What about cancellations and refunds?

You can cancel any time - instructions are https://help.podia.com/en/articles/11370985-cancel-an-active-community-subscription. If you cancel your plan within a week of your most recent payment you can ask me for a refund of your most recent payment. I don't offer refunds for membership payments that were made more than a week ago.
